Before today, I had never heard of a pyrocumulus cloud. They’re forming here in Los Angeles. This first picture was taken at 2PM today.
Looking north at downtown Los Angeles. A pyrocumulus cloud forms above smoke that completely obscures the view of the San Gabriel mountains.
The remaining shots, taken a couple of hours later, show fires as viewed from Sunland.
